Lane closures on North Oak Trafficway to begin week of July 12

for construction of Arrowhead Transmission Main Project – Phase 2

Installation of a new 54-inch water transmission main along North Oak Trafficway will require lane closures beginning the week of July 12th.

The project is currently in Phase 2 and includes installation of 2 miles of 54-inch water transmission main along North Oak Trafficway from Kansas City’s water plant at 9 Highway and North Oak to Vivion Road

    Work hours will be between 7 am and 7 pm

    Traffic control signs to be installed in advance of construction

    Work zone speed limit will be 30 mph

This schedule is subject to change. Traffic delays are expected. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route

This work is part of the Arrowhead Transmission Main project that will:

    increase system capacity

    improve overall system reliability

    provide redundancy to existing 36-inch MCI transmission main

    accommodate Northland community growth

The Kansas City, Missouri Water Services Department maintains and operates drinking water treatment and distribution systems, stormwater management and control systems and wastewater collection and treatment systems for residential and business customers in the Kansas City region. Operation is funded entirely by fees charged to customers based on their use of products and services, not by taxes.
