City to hold informational forum April 24
City of Kansas City, Mo., residents can learn about youth recreational activities and summer enrichment programs at an informational forum on Saturday, April 24. The forum, hosted by the Neighborhood Services Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Gregg Klice Community Center, 1600 E. 17th Terrace.
Alan Schmelzle, Linda Myles and Tammie Tritico from the Parks and Recreation Department will discuss various summer and day camp programs offered at the community centers throughout the city.
Darren Faulkner, program coordinator of the Kansas City Freedom School Initiative, will share information about the purpose of their program, different site locations and what services are available during the summer for youth.
Manomay Malathip of the Kauffman Foundation will discuss the Kauffman Scholars program. Malathip will share information about being a Kauffman Scholar and how youth can get into this program.
