Riley, Circo to hold 5th District meeting for residents
City of Kansas City, Mo., 5th District residents will have the opportunity to meet with their 5th District City Council representatives at a special meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 24. Councilman Terry Riley, 5th District; and Councilwoman Cindy Circo, 5th District at large, will meet with residents at 6 p.m., Feb. 24, at the Southeast Community Center, 4201 E. 63rd St.
Coleman McClain of the City’s Housing and Community Development Department, will conduct a presentation on "Real Estate Owned Properties in the 5th District contained within Kansas City Missouri’s Asset Transfer Plan for HUD."
In addition, Deletta Dean, manager of the Neighborhood Services Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department will be on hand with Dona Stephenson, site coordinator for the Local Investment Commission’s Southeast Caring Communities Neighborhood Resource Center. Dean and Stephenson will lead a roundtable discussion regarding neighborhood success stories. Participants will be encouraged to share what has and has not been effective in their own neighborhoods. The Local Investment Commission is a nationally recognized organization known for its efforts to improve the lives of children and families in Kansas City through its Caring Communities initiative.
