Parks and Recreation employee fatality
An employee of the City of Kansas City, Mo., Parks and Recreation Department was killed this morning while working at Jerry Smith Park, 137th Street and Prospect Avenue.
A visitor to the park discovered the body this between 10 and 11 a.m. Kansas City Police Department and Fire Department responded to the incident.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Medical Examiner. The cause of death is under investigation.
The employee’s name is being withheld, pending notification of family members.
