Small bridge projects progress
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is updating motorists on three small bridge projects that have an impact on local traffic only. These projects involve the removal of small bridges and the installation of large in-ground pipes that will replace the bridges.
The bridge on Rickey Road will be temporarily closed beginning today. It is the intent of the Public Works Department to complete work within three weeks, prior to the start of the school year. During the closure, motorists will be provided a detour route that uses Noland Road, Little Blue Road and Woodson Road.
A temporary closure on Staley Road remains in effect until late August. The east bridge on Staley Road has been removed and the west bridge will be removed this week. It is the intent of the Public Works Department to complete work and reopen Staley Road prior to the start of the school year. The detour route for this project uses N.E. 100th Street and Woodland Avenue.
Media inquiries and other requests for more information about this project should be directed to Dennis Gagnon, public information officer for the Public Works Department, (816) 513-2659.
