United Airlines adds daily nonstop flight from KCI to San Francisco

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Aviation Department reports that United Airlines will begin new nonstop service from Kansas City International Airport to San Francisco International Airport beginning Oct. 25. The route will be operated once daily each way and is timed to provide passengers with convenient connections to United’s departures to Hawaii and Asia. United operates a hub at San Francisco International Airport with 258 daily departures to 71 nonstop destinations.

SkyWest Airlines will fly the new United Express route using 66-seat Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft featuring "explus," the first regional jet service with three distinct seating options, including the premium amenities of United First and extra legroom of Economy Plus®. "Explus" also features full-sized leather seats throughout, large overhead bins and spacious cabins.

Nonstop daily flights between Kansas City and San Francisco, effective Oct. 25, 2009:

- Kansas City to San Francisco: Departs at 8:51 a.m., and arrives at 10:45 a.m.

- San Francisco to Kansas City: Departs at 4:07 p.m., and arrives at 9:31 p.m.
