Residents advised about wastewater discharge
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources report that a sewer overflow on Nov. 23 in the 8400 block of Main Street discharged an estimated 1,200 gallons of wastewater into a unnamed tributary that runs into the Blue River.
The overflow was discovered and corrected within three hours. The overflow occurred because of debris that had collected in the sewer system. The area has been posted to notify the public that a sewage spill has occurred.
