La Bodega and Sol Cantina liquor licenses suspended for two days

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department and the managing officers of La Bodega and Sol Cantina restaurants have agreed to two-day suspensions of establishments’ liquor licenses. La Bodega is located at 703 Southwest Blvd., and Sol Cantina is located at 408 E. 31st St.

La Bodega’s suspension will begin at 6 a.m. on Sept. 7 and end at 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 9. Sol Cantina’s suspension will begin at 6 a.m. on Sept. 7 and end at 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 8.

The suspensions are the result of employees selling alcoholic beverages to minors, which is a City ordinance violation. During the suspensions, the businesses will be closed.

As a condition of the suspension, the managing offices of both establishments have agreed to provide education, training and instruction to their employees about City ordinances.

Media inquiries about this issue should be directed to Gary Majors, manager of Regulated Industries Division, or Jim Ready, assistant manager of Regulated Industries Division at (816) 784-9000.
