Spay and Neuter clinic opens at City-owned building

Spay and Neuter Kansas City, in partnership with the City of Kansas City, Mo., is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on May 12 to celebrate its new clinic at 1116 E. 59th St., (on the northeast corner of 59th and Troost streets).

The City worked with Spay and Neuter Kansas City to refurbish the building to provide free and low-cost spay and neuter services to in-need pet owners who qualify. The clinic also will offer low-cost vaccination clinics and a community resource for dog/cat food, dog houses and hay.

City Councilmembers Cindy Circo, 5th District at large, Jan Marcason, 4th District, and Deb Herman, 1st District at large, and City staff are expected to attend the event.

The new clinic will have an open house May 27.

Spay and Neuter Kansas City is a nonprofit organization formed to promote spay and neutering as a primary means of decreasing pet overpopulation
