Aim4Peace co-sponsors ‘The Time is Now’ outreach initiative

City of Kansas City, Mo., Aim4Peace Neighborhood Action Teams are partnering with All Christians Together Serving to present “The Time is Now,” an initiative to create safer streets in at-risk communities. This event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Sheffield Family Life Center in the Thirst Chapel, 5901 Winner Road.

Local church groups, civic groups and anti-violence organizations are invited to join Aim4Peace to plan and network about how to reduce violence, crime and blight in Kansas City, Mo., neighborhoods. Attendees also will have the opportunity to get firsthand experience by accompanying a team in canvassing a section of the community.

The initiative is a continuance of the Neighborhood Action Teams’ efforts to service and assist the community by stressing awareness and working to eliminate actions and mind-sets associated with perpetuation of violence in the city. The public is invited to share thoughts and ideas about the City’s movement to stop the violence and senseless killing, talk with the front-line action team members and help work to make neighborhoods safer.
