Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund hearing Aug. 21
Organizations that applied for reimbursable grants for the second quarter of the 2008-09 fiscal year from the City of Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund will present their projects to the committee Aug. 21. This hearing will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the Robert J. Mohart Multipurpose FOCUS Center, 3200 Wayne Ave.
For the second quarter, 14 organizations submitted applications for 22 projects. The applying organization is given a 10-minute presentation slot for each project that allows a five-minute presentation and five minutes for the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund committee to ask questions. This hearing is open to the public; however, no public testimony will be accepted.
Eligible activities are cultural, social, ethnic, historic, educational or recreational. Eligible organizations must meet these qualifications:
-- Is a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Missouri
-- Has its registered office located within the city limits of Kansas City, Mo.
-- Has neighborhood, community, tourism, promotion and development priorities as part of its mission
-- Meets the City's requirements for contracting with non-municipal agencies
-- Can thoroughly demonstrate that it meets the program's eligibility requirements.
