Home Weatherization Program suspends applications starting Nov. 12

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Property Preservation Division will stop accepting applications for the Home Weatherization Program on Nov. 12.

"Starting Wednesday, we must stop accepting applications for the Home Weatherization Program until more funds are appropriated," said Bob Jackson, manager of the Property Preservation Division. This division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department administers the Emergency Home Repair Program, Home Weatherization Program, Municipal Court Fund Program (referral only) and Paint Program.

"We do not want to create a backlog of applications and keep people waiting on a service when we cannot provide eligible applicants with a timeline as to when they might receive service," Jackson said.

It is anticipated that applications that have been received through Nov. 12 and are determined eligible will receive services from the Home Weatherization Program. Applications received after Nov. 12 will not be processed and will not be put on a waiting list.
