Workshop teaches businesses how to work with City

The City of Kansas City, Mo., is hosting the “How to Conduct Business with the City” workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 in the Biery Auditorium at the Health Department, 2400 Troost Ave. The workshop is being conducted by the Aim4Peace program, an initiative of the City Manager’s Office, and the Procurement Division of the General Services Department.

At the workshop, City staff will review the request for proposal criteria and discuss the requirements involved in conducting business with the City. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions about the process.

Businesses and organizations also will be given information about applying for an Aim4Peace Challenge Grant Award, which is designed to fund agencies serving the city’s urban areas. The Challenge Grant was made possible by a Bureau of Justice Assistance Targeting Violence Grant awarded to Aim4Peace. Awards of up to $100,000 will go to help agencies providing anti-violence services in the community.

For more information about the Aim4Peace program or how to get involved, call (816) 513-7902 or visit http://www.kcmo.org/aim4peace. For more information about the workshop, call Tracie McClendon-Cole at (816) 513-7902.
