City seeks feedback on preliminary downtown area plans
The City of Kansas City, Mo., City Planning and Development Department and a consultant team led by BNIM Architects invite Kansas City area residents to attend one of two meetings to give feedback to preliminary recommendations for the Greater Downtown Area Plan. At the meetings, participants will use electronic voting keypads to give their opinion on ideas generated from a series of public planning meetings.
The meetings are 5:15-6:45 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the Arthur Stillwell Conference Room at Union Station, 30 W. Pershing Road.
The Greater Downtown Area Plan will create policies designed to ensure the City is able to continue to benefit from recent development activity downtown, while providing strategies to address the unique issues and needs of these neighborhoods.
The 11 neighborhoods in the project area are Harlem, Downtown Loop, West Bottoms, River Market, Columbus Park, Paseo West, 18th and Vine, Beacon Hill/Longfellow, Crossroads, Westside and Crown Center/Union Hill.
