Youth Commissioners to throw out first pitch at Royals game

The Kansas City Youth Commission will throw out the first pitch at today’s Kansas City Royals game at 7:10 p.m. at Kauffman Stadium, I-70 and Blue Ridge Cutoff.

All 18 members of the commission will be honored on the field before the game, and TeAudra Sanders, 2nd District, will throw the first pitch to Latia Thomas, 6th District. The commission includes young people ages 12-23 who represent each of the six council districts.

The Youth Commission was established in 2005 as the official youth voice in the City’s decision-making process. Commissioners from across the city represent their peers during one-year terms.

For more information, visit or contact Thalia Cherry, youth advocate for the City Manager’s Office at (816) 513-1378.
