23rd Street Viaduct temporarily reopens Friday, September 28, 2007
The 23rd Street Viaduct and American Royal Drive has been temporarily reopened and will remain open until late December. After December, the viaduct will be closed again until summer 2008. During the time the bridge is temporarily open, vehicles weighing 5 tons or more are prohibited from driving on the bridge.

City receives federal grant for lead hazard reduction Friday, September 28, 2007
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department will receive a $394,700 demonstration grant for lead hazard reduction from the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development to be paid out over a three-year period. The grant, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 1, will help eliminate lead hazards in homes of local low-income families with children.

City Hall’s 12th street sidewalks to close, parking restricted Monday, September 10, 2007
The sidewalks on the north side of 12th Street between Oak and McGee streets (on the south side City Hall) will be closed for four weeks, and parking along the same street will be blocked beginning Sept. 12 due to a major streetscape improvement project.
