Independence streetscape celebration to be Sept. 26
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Capital Improvements Management Office and the Parks and Recreation Department will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony Sept. 26 for the completion of major improvements to Independence Boulevard. The event will be from 6-7 p.m. in the parking lot of Super Value Foods, 2904 Independence Blvd.
The three-phase, $1.4 million project brings a range of improvements to the area, including new streetlights, pedestrian lighting, ADA accessible sidewalks, trees and shrubbery, street name tiles at intersections, traffic signal upgrades and additional parking spaces.
