City and Explorers team up for free youth tennis camp
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Youth Advocacy Office, Parks and Recreation Department and the Kansas City Explorers World TeamTennis will provide a free tennis camp for the city's youth ages 5-14. The camp is July 7, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Barry Road Park Tennis Courts, 7601 N.W. Barry Road.
The tennis camp, which will be taught by members of the Explorers, is designed for tennis players of all skill levels. Participants will receive professional tennis instruction and learn the importance of sportsmanship, physical fitness and team play. Each participant also will receive a free tennis racquet.
Parents or guardians must remain on-site throughout the tennis clinic. Participants must wear tennis shoes with non-marking soles.
