FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 26, 2007
Trash and recycling collection delayed one day for holiday
No-tag week scheduled for July 9-13
Trash, recycling, and bulky item collection for residents of the City of Kansas City, Mo., will be delayed one day due to observance of Independence Day. Residents who usually have Wednesday collection will receive service Thursday, July 5. Residents who usually have Friday collection will receive service Saturday, July 7.
The Public Works Department also announced that the week of July 9-13 is a "no-tag" week for trash collection. This service is traditionally offered around the July 4 and Christmas holidays to assist citizens in managing excess trash.
During regular weeks, the City accepts two trash bags without tags. Each additional bag requires a trash tag that can be purchased for $1 at participating Westlake Ace Hardware and Price Chopper stores.
