Low-cost rabies clinic set for June 9

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Animal Health and Public Safety Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department is a sponsor of an upcoming pet clinic.

The City of Kansas City, Kan., Animal Control Department and Spay and Neuter Kansas City will host a large, citywide, low-cost rabies vaccination/microchip insertion clinic. The clinic is scheduled for June 9 from 9-11 a.m. at Spay and Neuter Kansas City, located at 3710 Main St.

Rabies vaccinations are $5 for cats and dogs from specific, targeted ZIP codes. Rabies vaccinations are $10 for all others. Pet owners who reside in Kansas City, Mo., or Kansas City, Kan., must purchase a City license at the event if their pets are not already licensed. License fees vary for each City. Microchips will be available for only $10.

The Animal Health and Public Safety Division is encouraging pet owners to be aware of their pets' changing needs in the upcoming summer months and find out how to keep their pets safe and cool.
