Kansas City marks downtown milestone Wednesday, May 10, 2006
City of Kansas City, Mo., officials, members of the contracting community, and civic and community leaders gathered Wednesday to mark a major milestone in downtown's revitalization. The group assembled under the Midland Theatre marquee, which is in the Kansas City Power and Light District's construction site, to sign a 16-inch, ductile iron water main.

The Animal Health and Public Safety Division of the City of Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhood and Community Services Department is offering low-cost rabies vaccinations for pets May 6 from 8 a.m. until noon at the City's animal shelter at 4400 Raytown Road. Spay and Neuter Kansas City, Wayside Waifs and AnimalKind are partnering with the City to put on this drive-thru clinic.
