Spotlight on KC Talent Show is Oct. 21

The City of Kansas City, Mo., will hold the second Spotlight on KC Talent Show Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Exhibit Hall in Municipal Auditorium, 301 W. 13th St. in Kansas City, Mo. Prizes include cash prizes and additional opportunities to perform in the community. Sho Tyme of Paseo High School is the special guest performer.

The competition was open to youth ages 12-18 and the contestants were required to attend free entertainment workshops.

The auditions, workshops and the talent show have been coordinated by the Youth Advocacy Office (City Manager's Office).

The following are this year's contestants for the Spotlight on KC Talent Show:

The performers will be judged by Tyrone Aikens, Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey; Robert Hill, Disney; Gregory McPherson, McPherson's Holding Group and Allen University; and Ben Chavis of Russell Simmons Hip Hop Summit Action Network.

Tickets are available at the Municipal Auditorium box office and from Ticketmaster (http://www.ticketmaster.com). Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
