City and Explorers team up for youth tennis camp
A free tennis camp sponsored by the City of Kansas City, Mo., including the Parks and Recreation Department; and the Kansas City Explorers, will provide youth ages 5-14 with the opportunity to learn from the pros. The camp is July 11, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Plaza Tennis Center, 4747 J.C. Nichols Parkway.
The tennis camp, taught by members of the Explorers, will meet the needs of tennis players of all skill levels. Participants will receive professional tennis instruction and learn the importance of sportsmanship, physical fitness and team play. Each participant also will receive a free tennis racquet.
Parents must remain on-site throughout the tennis camp and participants must wear tennis shoes with non-marking soles.
