Two committee meetings canceled Wednesday Tuesday, February 26, 2013
The City of Kansas City, Mo., has canceled the Finance, Governance & Ethics Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 8:30 a.m. due to inclement weather. The City has also canceled the Planning, Zoning & Economic Development Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m. due to inclement weather.

Southeast Community Center will be open overnight for residents without power Tuesday, February 26, 2013
The City of Kansas City, Mo., has partnered with the American Red Cross to keep the City’s Southeast Community Center open overnight for residents who may be without power at their homes. The Southeast Community Center will open for overnight guests at 7 p.m. and is located at 4201 E. 63rd St.

City gives taxpayers and preparers affected by winter storm additional time to file and pay business license renewals Tuesday, February 26, 2013
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Revenue Division will allow taxpayers and tax preparers affected by severe winter storms an extra week to file returns for business licenses and accompanying payments normally due on Feb. 28. The deadline for filing and paying for a 2013 business license has been extended to Thursday, March 7, 2013.

The recent run of severe weather has resulted in extensive power outages and downed power lines throughout Kansas City, Mo. Approximately 22,000 Kansas City, Mo., KCP&L customers are currently without power. KCP&L has called in additional personnel and are progressing through restoration.

The City of Kansas City, Mo., is advising residents that curbside trash and recycling collection will be suspended tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 26 due to the upcoming winter snowstorm. Due to this suspension, trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day the rest of this week. For example, residents who usually have Tuesday collection will receive it Wednesday, Feb. 27.
