Health Department cautions of potential lead poisoning risk with imported makeup Tuesday, November 26, 2013

Overtime for City of Kansas City, Mo., employees has increased significantly over the last three years according to a report released today by the City Auditor’s Office. The audit focuses on the analysis of overtime trends, drivers of overtime and the effectiveness of City practices used to manage overtime. It does not include overtime in the Police Department.

City awarded $1 million to provide targeted minor home repairs Friday, November 22, 2013
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines today presented the City of Kansas City, Mo., and Central Bank of Kansas City with two grants totaling $1 million to support minor home repair assistance in targeted Kansas City neighborhoods. Mayor Sly James and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II accepted the grants on behalf of the City during a grant presentation ceremony at City Hall.

City receives national Distinguished Budget Award Thursday, November 21, 2013
The City of Kansas City, Mo., has received one of the highest national awards for its budget, announced the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The association recently recognized the City with its Distinguished Budget Award for “meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting” in four categories: a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
