Health Department hosts Saturday back-to-school immunization clinic on Aug. 10
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department will hold a special back-to-school immunization clinic on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2400 Troost Ave.
“We are offering this special Saturday clinic for those parents who are unable to get away during the week to make sure their child is immunized,” said Jelene Wynn, RN, public health nurse supervisor. “Missouri school districts require that all students have been immunized or have appropriate documentation of why they are not vaccinated.”
The Saturday immunization clinic is open to all school districts in Missouri. Parents or guardians need to bring a copy of their child’s shot record with them. If the child has previously had shots at the Health Department, they can get a copy of the shot record when they register.
Immunizations are free for children who have no insurance, who have limited insurance that does not cover immunization or who are eligible for Medicaid’s Vaccine For Children program.
More information on immunization clinic times can be found at www.kcmo.org/health or by calling the clinic at 816-513-6108.
