City requests resident ideas for Swope Area improvements
The City of Kansas City, Mo., invites residents to help shape the future of the Swope Area – generally Brush Creek south to 85th Street and Troost Avenue east to the Blue River. The community meeting will take place Thursday, June 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Southeast Community Center in Swope Park, 4201 E. 63rd St.
City Planning and Development staff welcomes resident ideas regarding land use, transportation, infrastructure, neighborhoods and more.
“We have completed our initial phase during which a vision statement and goals were established for the area,” said Gerald Williams, lead planner. “Now we are ready to explore more detailed strategies to support the broader goals.”
Residents are encouraged to provide input on improvements to area roadways, locations of future trails and bike routes, beautification of public spaces, improvements to area neighborhoods and the character of new development.
Individuals unable to attend the meeting also may submit their ideas electronically at www.plankcmo.com, City Planning and Development’s online town hall meeting.
