Curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day both weeks for residents who usually have Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday collection.

Water Services issues wastewater bonds at historically low rate, achieves cost savings Thursday, December 6, 2012
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department recently issued wastewater revenue bonds at a historically low interest rate of 2.86 percent, which will enable Water Services to perform $75 million in improvements associated with sewer rehabilitation, sewage treatment plants, pump stations, disinfection, sewer force mains, interceptor sewers, storm drainage and green infrastructure improvements in connection with Water Services’ $2.5 billion, 25-year Overflow Control Program.

Shoal Creek Trail extension begins construction Tuesday, December 4, 2012
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is advising residents that construction crews today began work to extend the Shoal Creek Trail to Barry Road. This phase of the 10-foot-wide concrete trail starts near the intersection of Maplewoods Parkway and North Agnes Avenue and follows Shoal Creek until the intersection of Barry Road and North Highland Avenue.

Paper recycling event yields great success Monday, December 3, 2012
City of Kansas City, Mo., and Jackson County, Mo., staff, employees and residents participated in the Paper Recycling Challenge for the America Recycles Day activity on Nov. 15. During the challenge over 9,500 pounds of paper was collected, shredded and recycled. Four City locations were open to residents to contribute and participants received an eco-pen, pad and educational material.
