Fourth District Councilwoman Jan Marcason elected vice president of Missouri Municipal League
City of Kansas City, Mo., Fourth District Councilwoman Jan Marcason was elected vice president of the Missouri Municipal League at the organization’s annual conference in Osage Beach, Mo., on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
“I am pleased and excited to have an opportunity to promote cooperative interaction among Missouri’s towns and cities in order to improve and strengthen municipal governments in our state,” said Councilwoman Marcason.
The Missouri Municipal League, organized in 1934 as an agency for the cooperation of Missouri cities, towns and villages, is an independent, statewide, not-for-profit association governed by a Board of Directors consisting of a president, vice president, active past presidents, 12 elected municipal officials and five appointed municipal officials, with at least one board member from each Congressional District.
The mission of MML is to strengthen cities through a united voice, cooperation, effective services and a proactive agenda. Councilwoman Marcason has been a member of the MML Board of Directors and the Resolutions Committee.
