Brief closure planned for Chouteau Trafficway
City of Kansas City, Mo., construction crews will close Chouteau Trafficway between Parvin and Winn roads on Monday, June 25. The road will remain closed to all traffic until the following Sunday, July 1.
The planned closure will allow crews to complete work at Parvin Road and Chouteau Trafficway ahead of schedule, reopening the roadway to normal traffic earlier than originally planned.
Crews started construction on the Chouteau Parkway project in April 2012. The project will replace the existing Chouteau Trafficway with a four-lane parkway between Highway 210 and Interstate 35. Work will include installation of an improved storm drainage system, new lights, trails, sidewalks and other amenities.
The City’s Public Works Department is managing this project. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2014.
Detour signs and changeable message boards will be posted prior to the road closure.
Media inquiries and other requests for more information about this project should be directed to Sean Demory, Public Works Department, at 816-513-0059 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
