Youth invited to Club KC for weekend activities
The City of Kansas City, Mo., invites middle and high school-aged youth to enjoy free and secure nightlife at Club KC on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23. Club KC takes place at Gregg/Klice Community Center, 1600 John “Buck” O’Neil Way, from 6 to 11 p.m. for middle school-aged students and at Brush Creek Community Center, 3801 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., from 7 p.m. to midnight for high school-aged students. ID is required.
Club KC, which opened Friday, June 15, provides youth with a wide variety of free activities, including swim parties, video games, dancing, live DJs, refreshments, open mic, Krumpin (dance battles), poetry slams, three-on-three basketball tournaments and a talent showcase. Security is provided. Club KC will be open every weekend through July 6-7.
Club KC is a part of “Mayor’s Nights,” a new program sponsored by the City’s Mayor’s Office, Parks and Recreation Department, Hot 103 Jamz radio station, Kansas City Keys and KC Hoops. “Mayor’s Nights” will provide a variety of activities for youth and young adults this summer. In addition to Club KC, Night Hoops, Night Kicks and Night Nets are also planned.
