Mayor’s Nights program provides activities for youth this summer

Its first activity, Club KC, opens this Friday for youth ages 12-18

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Mayor’s Office, in partnership with the Parks and Recreation Department and Hot 103 Jamz radio station, is pleased to announce “Mayor’s Nights,” a new program that will provide a variety of activities for youth and young adults this summer. Planned activities include: Club KC, Night Hoops, Night Kicks and Night Nets.

Club KC kicks off Friday, June 15 and will provide weekend nightlife for youth ages 12-18. Club KC will feature many exciting activities and games, including swim parties, video games, dancing, live DJs, refreshments, open mic, Krumpin (dance battles), poetry slams, three-on-three basketball tournaments and a talent showcase.

Club KC is divided into two age divisions: ages 12-15 and ages 16-18. Youth ages 12-15 are invited to the Club KC at Tony Aguirre Community Center on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 from 6-11 p.m.

Teenagers ages 16-18 are invited to the Club KC at the Brush Creek Community Center on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Security will be provided at Club KC. Admission is free during opening weekend.

Club KC will also be open the weekends of June 22-23, June 29-30 and July 6-7 at Gregg Klice Community Center for youth ages 12-15 and Brush Creek Community Center for youth ages 16-18. Admission is $5 after opening weekend.
