Troost Avenue construction begins March 6
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is advising motorists that construction will start on the Troost Avenue Bridge improvement project on Tuesday, March 6 in anticipation of a May 2012 completion date.
Planned construction includes improvements to Troost Avenue south of Volker Boulevard and completion of street light installation on the Troost Avenue Bridge. This work will result in lane closures on Troost Avenue and Volker Boulevard, but motorists will have road access through construction.
The $13.5 million project will replace the existing Troost Avenue Bridge and provide pedestrian access along Troost Avenue. The project received $9 million in federal stimulus funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The Capital Projects Department is managing the project for the City’s Water Services Department. Construction is scheduled for completion in early May 2012.
Media inquiries and other requests for more information about this project should be directed to Sean Demory, Capital Projects Department, at 816-513-0059 or email email@example.com.
