Greater Downtown Area Plan team to hold second round of public meetings
City of Kansas City, Mo., City Planning and Development Department staff and a consultant team led by BNIM Architects are holding a second series of public meetings to generate ideas for the Greater Downtown Area Plan.
The meetings are from 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the Don Bosco Senior Center, 580 Campbell St., and from 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the Arthur Stilwell conference room at Union Station, 30 W. Pershing Road.
Pre-registration is encouraged so that adequate materials are prepared. Registration and comments may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This round of meetings will include a summary of the first series of meetings and a presentation on the results of a survey of residents and businesses located in the downtown area. Participants also are asked to bring new ideas to help establish a vision to guide public decisions on land use, housing, infrastructure, public services, open space and zoning in the Greater Downtown Area.
The 11 neighborhoods in the project area are Harlem, Downtown Loop, West Bottoms, River Market, Columbus Park, Paseo West, 18th and Vine, Beacon Hill/Longfellow, Crossroads, Westside and Crown Center/Union Hill.
