FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 16, 2009
City makes development plans/plats available electronically
In an effort to improve customer service, efficiency and contribute to City of Kansas City, Mo., environmental efforts, the City Planning and Development Department will make development plans/plats submitted after June 1, 2009 for City Plan Commission and City Council consideration available to the public in electronic format.
Initially, those interested in receiving an electronic copy should contact the department at (816) 513-2846 to request a copy (please provide case number, project location and e-mail address). The Department is working on a process to provide a link to the plats/plans on the City’s Web site. In the past, if the public wanted to review or make a copy of a proposed plat/plan prior to a public hearing, they had to come to City Hall and pay reproduction costs.
In addition to providing improved service to Kansas City stakeholders, this effort will assist City staff in its review of projects, as well as contribute to the City’s greening efforts by reducing the need for the public to make hard copies of plats/plans and reducing vehicle trips to City Hall.
For more information, contact Virginia Walsh from the City Planning and Development Department at (816) 513-2846.
