City’s Action Center sustains damage, operations moved to back-up site
The main call center for the City of Kansas City, Mo., 3-1-1 Action Center, a division of the City Manager’s Office, sustained damage over the weekend due to a broken water pipe. Operations have been moved to the back-up call center.
“We were able to activate our emergency plan and get the system up and running without significant disruption,” said Earnest Rouse, director of the 3-1-1 Action Center. “The back-up site is designed for exactly this type of incident and the transition went as planned.”
Work to repair the broken pipe is under way and should be completed later this week.
The incident will not affect Action Center operations.
