Public hearing to be Jan. 29 for denial of daily dance hall permit

The manager of the City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division will conduct a public hearing Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. for an applicant to appeal the City's decision to deny the approval of a daily dance hall permit application. The location for which the application was made is 8001 The Paseo in Kansas City, Mo.

The hearing will be held at the Regulated Industries Division office at Century Towers, 635 Woodland Ave.

Ordinance violations that have been observed when daily permits previously had been issued for this location include disorderliness, disturbances, brawls and the presence of alcohol. For these reasons, the Regulated Industries Division has determined that it would not be in the best interest of the surrounding neighborhood to continue to grant daily dance hall permits for this location.

For more information about this hearing, call Gary Majors, manager of the Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, (816) 784-9020.

Media inquiries about this issue should be directed to Teresa L. Clark, public information officer for the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, (816) 513-3247.
