City reaches agreement to close Barcelona Banquet Hall
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department and the management of Barcelona Banquet Hall have agreed to an informal disposition, which will close the banquet hall indefinitely. Barcelona Banquet Hall is located at 3053 Southwest Blvd.
The two parties reached agreement after various violations of City ordinances occurred during the previous licensing period.
The Regulated Industries Division cited Barcelona Banquet Hall with violations of these sections of the City ordinance, but not limited to, Sections 10-342, 10-335(a)(2), 10-331(e) and Section 50-44(a):
• Section 10-342 – No sales-by-drink licensee, nor employee of the licensee, shall permit a person under 21 years of age to enter or remain upon the licensed premises.
• Section 10-335(a)(2) – Upon the licensed premises of a sales-by-drink licensee, no licensee, nor any employee of the licensee, shall allow any person to remove from the premises any alcoholic beverage provided for consumption on the premises;
• Section 10-331(e) - All licensees shall at all times keep the licensed premises safe, clean and sanitary and in accordance with the applicable rules, regulations and ordinances of the city.
• Section 50-44(a)- Any person who shall in any way or manner hinder, obstruct, molest, resist or otherwise interfere with any city public safety officer, employee or inspector, including, but not limited to, any firefighter or other fire suppression employee, fire prevention inspector, health inspector, building code inspector, zoning inspector, property maintenance or nuisances code inspector, illegal dumping inspector, regulated industries investigator or animal control officer, any employee or official of the metropolitan ambulance services trust or the ambulance contractor providing ambulance service for the metropolitan ambulance services trust, or any officer of the city police department or any member of any other law enforcement agency or police force, in the discharge of his/her official duties shall be guilty of an ordinance violation.
