City suspends liquor licenses of Deluxe Party Shop and Shooters
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Regulated Industries Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department has suspended the liquor licenses of Deluxe Party Shop, 9337 Blue Ridge Blvd., for 14 days and Shooters, 4108 N. Oak Trafficway, for three days. The suspensions were made in agreement with management at these establishments.
This suspension for Deluxe Party Shop will begin Jan. 2 at 6 a.m. and end Jan. 16 at 1:30 a.m. As a condition of the suspension, the management of Deluxe Party Shop has agreed to provide education, training and instruction to its employees about City ordinances. The Regulated Industries Division cited Deluxe Party Shop with violations of this section of the City ordinance:
-- Section 10-332 – Prohibited acts by all retail licensees (j) Illegal drugs – No retail licensee, nor employee of the licensee, shall possess, store, sell or offer for sale, give away, distribute or deliver any controlled substance or illegal drug or narcotic, as defined in the Missouri Comprehensive Drug Control Act, or similar statutes, upon the licensed premises, nor shall any licensee or employee allow any other person to engage in any of these acts upon the licensed premises.
This suspension for Shooters will begin Dec. 11 at 6 a.m. and end Dec. 14 at 1:30 a.m. As a condition of the suspension, the management of Shooters has agreed to provide education, training and instruction to its employees about City ordinances. The Regulated Industries Division cited Shooters with violations of these sections of the City ordinance:
-- Section 10-331 – General requirements for all licenses (e) Condition of premises – All licensees shall at all times keep the licensed premises safe, clean and sanitary and in accordance with the applicable rules, regulations and ordinances of the City
-- Section 10-332 – Prohibited acts by all retail licensees (a) Sales to minors or intoxicated persons – No retail licensee, nor employee of the licensee, shall allow any alcoholic beverages to be sold, given or otherwise supplied upon the licensed premises to any person who is under of 21 years of age, or to a habitual drunkard, or to any person who is intoxicated or who is actually or apparently under the influence of alcoholic beverage
-- Section 10-335 – Prohibited acts on sales-by-drink premises (a) Upon the licensed premises of a sales-by-drink licensee, no licensee, nor any employee of the licensee, shall (7) Allow any employee directly participating in the sale of alcoholic beverages as defined by Section 10-5 to consume any alcoholic beverage.
