Community Leadership Program trains community leaders
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhood and Community Services Department in partnership with the Mid-America Regional Council continues its commitment to developing strong leaders through the Community Leadership Program. The next class in the program, Personal Strengths, is currently accepting registration. The class meets for five weeks at the Green Impact Zone Conference Center, 4600 The Paseo.
The Personal Strengths program is the first in a five part series of certificate programs that make up the Community Leadership Program. This free program will also include classes on facilitation skills, problem solving, relationship building and community building. Each of these topics will be the focus of its own five-week class. Participants who complete the entire series of five classes will be eligible to graduate from the program and receive a certificate recognizing their completion of the program.
In the first ten months of the program, there have been 16 certificate programs representing 160 hours of instruction. More than 140 Kansas City, Mo., residents attended these training sessions.
The Community Leadership Program is designed for Kansas City, Mo., residents who can better serve their community organizations by improving their leadership skills. Each class will be offered north of the river, in the midtown area and in the south part of the city.
