City holds abandoned auto auction Nov. 16
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Tow Services Division will hold an abandoned auto auction on Nov. 16, 2010 at the Vehicle Impound Facility, 7750 E. Front St., beginning at 10 a.m. Registration is from 8-11 a.m.
To participate, bidders must be at least 18 and attend the auction in person with a state ID. Buyers must pay for their vehicles with cash or a cashier’s check by 4:30 p.m. after the auction concludes.
Abandoned auto auctions are held on the third Tuesday of each month. The list of auction vehicles can be viewed online at: http://webfusion.kcmo.org/coldfusionapps/uploads/data/auctionlist.pdf.
All vehicles are sold "as is" with no warranty.
Buyers have until 4 p.m. on the Friday following the auction (three days) to remove purchased vehicles. If a buyer purchases more than nine vehicles, this is extended until 4 p.m. on the Sunday following the auction.
Anyone who does not abide by these requirements may be barred from future Tow Services Division auctions.
A bill of sale will be mailed to all purchasers within 14 days after payment of vehicles. The City does not guarantee title to a vehicle. If you lose your bill of sale, a $10 fee will be charged for issuing a duplicate.
Vehicles that have an "S" listed in the comments section of the auction list are salvage vehicles. All vehicles that have been previously determined to be "salvage-only" will be made available for purchase to licensed salvage and auto dealers only, not to the general public. Anyone wishing to purchase "salvage-only" vehicles will be required to provide proof of a current salvage/dealer's license at the time of auction registration.
For more information about the auction, contact Lesly Forsberg, manager of the Tow Services Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, at 816-513-0692 or Lesly_Forsberg@kcmo.org.
