City encourages residents to share ideas for 31st and Prospect area

The City of Kansas City, Mo., has partnered with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) to create conceptual design alternatives for future development in the 40 Highway Corridor near 31st Street and Prospect Avenue. As part of this project, the City and MARC invite residents to share their ideas regarding this development at a public open house on Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 5-8 p.m. at the Lucile H. Bluford Branch Library, 3050 Prospect Avenue. Presentations will be held at 5:30 p.m. and repeated at 7 p.m.

During the open house, staff will feature display boards presenting ideas on 40 Highway Corridor redevelopment, and residents will be asked questions and see instant polling results. This project will focus on conceptual plans for three key intersections along the 40 Highway Corridor in eastern Jackson County: Prospect Avenue, Noland Road and Adams Dairy Parkway. It will also study redevelopment potential among these intersections.

Residents unable to attend the open house may also contribute input on a virtual town hall. Residents may visit, register to participate and click on the “40 Highway Corridor” tab.
