KC Aviation Director Mark VanLoh Nominated to Board of
International Association of Airport Executives
KANSAS CITY, Mo., October 30, 2013 – Mark VanLoh, AAE, director of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, Aviation Department, was nominated to the board of directors of the International Association of Airport Executives. Formed in 1992 by the American Association of Airport Executives, IAAE’s mission is to continuously identify and promote best practices in airport management worldwide through an ongoing exchange of information, networking opportunities, and professional training and growth opportunities within the global airport industry.
An Accredited Airport Executive through AAAE, VanLoh is active in worldwide airport and aviation affairs as well as civic and economic development efforts in the Kansas City region. He is currently on the board of AAAE and Chairman of the Platte County Economic Development Council.
As Director of Aviation for the Kansas City Aviation Department since 2004, VanLoh oversees all aspects of the management, development, operation and maintenance of Kansas City International Airport and Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport. VanLoh manages 550 employees and annual budget of $160 million.
The Kansas City Airport System is an Enterprise Fund Department of the City of Kansas City, Mo., and is supported wholly by airport user charges.
