CPR symposium at Health Department Oct. 29
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department is partnering with Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute and Anne Peterson Productions to host the Advances in Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Symposium. The symposium is Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Biery Auditorium at the Health Department, 2400 Troost Ave.
This symposium will be an educational opportunity for emergency medical personnel, first responders, cardiologists and nurses. Speakers will include:
Dr. Alex Garza, MPH, director of emergency medical services at the City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department, discussing recent advances in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest care
Dr. David Steinhaus, vice president and medical director of Medtronic Inc.’s Cardiac Rhythm Management Division, discussing post resuscitation care
Dr. Gordon A. Ewy, director of the Sarver Heart Institute and chief of cardiology at the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine, discussing a new, simplified method of CPR that is being piloted in Tucson, Ariz., and two counties in Wisconsin with positive results.
