FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Oct. 26, 2004
Deadline Nov. 30 for 2005 consolidated one-year action plan
Applications for citizens, organizations, non-profit corporations, and for-profit businesses to participate in the planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of Kansas City’s consolidated housing and community development plan are being accepted until Tuesday, Nov. 30. The citizen participation plan and application guide is available on the City’s Web site at www.kcmo.org/manager.nsf/web/OMBHome?opendocument.
The consolidated 2005 action plan will represent the second year of the City’s five-year 2004-2008 plan approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The 2005 citizen participation plan and application guide combines the application of four federal grant programs into one. Those four programs are: the Community Development Block Grant Program; the HOME Investment Partnership Program/ American Dream Down Payment Initiative; the Emergency Shelter Grant Program; and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program.
The City Manager’s Housing Program Office in the Office of Management and Budget is conducting public meetings in October and November to better educate citizens about the 2005 consolidated one-year action plan and tell them how they can participate in the process.
