Applications sought for KC Ethics Commission
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Ethics Commission Nominating Committee is seeking applications to fill five vacancies on the Municipal Officials Ethics Commission. Applications are sought for citizens residing in the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Council Districts. The chair and Third Council District position are presently filled.
Interested residents should complete and file applications immediately through the City’s website, www.kcmo.org, under the “Apply for a Board/Commission for the City” tab. The Nominating Committee, an advisory committee appointed by the Mayor, plans to submit at least two names for each vacant position for mayoral consideration no later than Friday, Oct. 29.
The Nominating Committee, composed of Jude Huntz, Diane Simpson, Anita Russell, Rabbi Robert Tobin and Ross Lillard, is chaired by retired appellate court judge Hal Lowenstein and will begin reviewing applications at a meeting this Friday, Oct. 22.
“Our goal is to present a slate of very qualified candidates to the Mayor just as soon as reasonably possible in order to allow the Ethics Commission to resume its important and valuable work,” Lowenstein said.
