Water pressure restored to South Kansas City customers
Normal water pressure has been restored to Water Services customers in South Kansas City who may have experienced low pressure due to a break on a 30-inch main near I-435 and Blue River Road.Water Services crews have isolated the break and restored water pressure to customers in the area.Customers should not experience additional interruptions during the repair.
Additionally, there were two water main breaks south of I-435 today. Earlier today, a main broke on 107thTerrace, just west of Holmes Road. That break has been repaired and water service has been restored. This afternoon, there was a break at 127thStreet, just east of Main Street. That break should be repaired early tomorrow morning.
Emergency dispatch representatives are addressing customer calls regarding each of these main breaks. Due to the large number of calls, some customers may have experiencedlong wait times ordisconnection, which the Department regrets.Water Services will provide updates to customers in these areas as more information becomes available.
