Tyndall appointed assistant to the city manager
City of Kansas City, Mo., City Manager Troy Schulte has announced the appointment of Kerrie Tyndall to the position of assistant to the city manager. Tyndall’s professional background includes more than 15 years of government and community/economic development experience.
One of Tyndall’s primary responsibilities will be to work on the City and Economic Development Corporation’s efforts in the area of enhanced business retention.
“The broad experience that Ms. Tyndall brings to the City will allow her to hit the ground running as our City works to move forward in challenging economic times,” Schulte said. “We are confident that her experience and skills will make a difference as this office works to improve the quality of life in our city.”
Prior to joining the City, Tyndall served as business development officer for the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, (2007 – 2011); assistant to the city administrator, City of Blue Springs, Mo., (2003 – 2007); director of strategic budgeting, City of Olathe, Kan., (2002); assistant to the city manager, City of Bryan, Texas., (1999 – 2002); assistant to the general manager, Woodlands Community Service Corporation, (1998 – 1999); and management services consultant, City of Kansas City, Mo., (1995 – 1998).
Tyndall holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from The University of Missouri – Kansas City, a Bachelors degree in General Studies – Psychology from the University of Kansas, and has pursued additional graduate studies in the fields of community and economic development at the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Tyndall will assume her responsibilities as assistant to the city manager on Oct. 17.
