Temporary closure of Northeast 72nd Street

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is alerting motorists that Northeast 72nd Street, from North Antioch to North Brighton, will be closed to thru traffic beginning Sept. 17. It is expected to remain closed until Sept. 28.

This closure is being made for the construction of roadway improvements adjacent to development in the area. During this closure, access to the area will be maintained for local traffic.

Public meeting scheduled for Northwest 72nd Street project

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is holding a public meeting to solicit feedback on the options available for extending Northwest 72nd Street from Northwest Waukomis Drive/Green Hills Road to just east of Overland Drive. The meeting will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at Northland Baptist Church, 7101 N.W. Waukomis Drive. A formal presentation will be given at 6 p.m.

The meeting will provide the public an opportunity to review the alignment alternatives, the preferred alignment and suggested stormwater best management practices developed for the project.
