51st Street reconstruction starts Sept. 13
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is informing motorists that 51st Street will be closed for reconstruction from South McCoy Street to the railroad bridge between Osage Street and Pebble Avenue starting Sept. 13. The project will last approximately five weeks, ending Oct. 18.
A detour will be established around the work site for through traffic. The project entails removal and reconstruction of the existing roadway from curb-to-curb. Some 51st Street residents may be required to park on the nearest side street for about a week.
